PQ Media Releases New Numbers

NEW YORK — Global paid product placement across all media was worth $2.21 billion in 2005, according to an estimate by PQ Media, a research company in Stamford, Conn.
Paid product placements will reach $3.01 billion in 2006, PQM predicted in a report released Wednesday. Of that, paid placements in the U.S. were worth $1.42 billion in 2005, according to an executive summary of PQM’s new report, “Global Product Placement Forecast 2006.” Those numbers reflect huge growth in the branded entertainment arena, PQM said. The 2005 estimate for global spending is 38.8% higher than 2004, and the U.S.-only growth was 48.7% greater. Read the rest of this entry »
