Carrie Underwood Gets Her Own ‘Before He Cheats’ Baseball Bat

Posted by iTVX Staff on 13th February 2008

Watch out, future jerk ex-boyfriends: Carrie Underwood is now armed. The “Before He Cheats” Grammy winner has been given her very own personalized version of the Louisville Slugger baseball bat featured in her hit song. (In the tune, Underwood, 24, croons that she “took a Louisville slugger to both headlights” of her unnamed cheating man’s “4-wheel drive.”) Congratulations, Carrie … and please, be safe with that thing.

Clemens vs. McNamee

Posted by iTVX Staff on 13th February 2008

We learned that Clemens’ old nanny may present some big problems for him, too. She, apparently, brought Clemens’ kids to that Jose Canseco bash in Florida. And when Clemens invited her to his house for a chit-chat last week — before she’d been interviewed by investigators — he raised some questions that could be tricky to dismiss. But we also learned that Brian McNamee isn’t anybody’s idea of a star witness. He admitted to lying on several fronts. He admitted he didn’t tell the whole truth about Clemens to investigators. He had lousy alibis for all of that. And he didn’t present his side in even a remotely forceful manner.

Writers got what they wanted: a partnership

Posted by iTVX Staff on 13th February 2008

LOS ANGELES - Now that the three-month-old writers’ strike is officially over, both sides are looking ahead — and claiming victory.

The writers claim victory because they will receive more money for content streamed over the Internet and on mobile devices. The studios claim victory because they were able to shed some perceived dead weight.

But the truth is similar to the legendary Akira Kurosawa film, “Rashomon,” a title that is often mentioned whenever a situation offers more than one interpretation.

Gary Coleman gets married; drops eBay plug

Posted by iTVX Staff on 13th February 2008

Congratulations are in order to our main man, Surreal Life star Gary Coleman, who was secretly married back in August to his 22-year old girlfriend of five months! Gary and his lady-friend, Shannon Price, barely knew each other, but that didn’t stop them from heading down to the Grand Canyon. It was the first marriage for both, and also the first time Gary had even been intimate with a woman. Sexxxy. The 40-year old former virgin said, I never got the opportunity to be romantic or feel romantic with anyone…I wasn’t saving myself, she just happened to be the one.”Say what?! Price insists that she doesn’t want to be known as a famous actor’s wife, and is working on solidifying her own career and name. “She’s a great eBay-er,” says her husband. “She’s a fabulous eBay-er. I hope she gets famous for that.”

But will their love last? The pair admits that they often go a week without speaking to each other because Gary has a tendency to get insanely angry and throw stuff at his wife. Yup, their relationship is that healthy, obvs. Mazel Tov! [InsideEdition]

Producers Prepare Accelerated Filming

Producers Prepare Accelerated Filming

While their strike may have ended, some television writers are discovering that they will have no jobs to return to this week. Some network executives have already replaced scripted shows that were performing marginally and have decided to wait until the fall to resume production of others. Moreover, they have drastically curtailed or written off many new shows that were being developed when the strike began. Nevertheless, today’s (Wednesday) New York Times indicated that several producers intended “to push as hard as possible” to turn out additional shows before the end of the season if only to “generate maximum work in a short amount of time” for workers who suffered financial hardship during the strike. The first show to return will probably be NBC’s Saturday Night Live. The network announced Tuesday that it will actually live up to its name and be “live” four weeks in a row — unusual for SNL — beginning February 23, with Tina Fey hosting the first show and Ellen Page of Juno hosting the second on March 1. Presumably late-night hosts Jay Leno, Conan O’Brien and Jimmy Kimmel will be reappearing tonight with material from their returned-to-work writers.

Priceless

Posted by iTVX Staff on 13th February 2008

Cinematical recently posted the poster for Audrey Tautou’s new film Priceless. The Amelie star is always delightful on the screen, and while the film’s premise seems cool (a gravedigger who finds love with a poor man she thinks is rich), I can’t help but feel like this poster is a subliminal endorsement for Tiffany’s.

What do you think?

Check out Cinematical’s take on it here

Sam Worthington Snags Lead ‘Terminator 4′ Role

Posted by iTVX Staff on 13th February 2008

We know Christian Bale will be playing an older John Connor, and there’s rumors that Josh Brolin might be in line to play the new (and improved?) Terminator, but now Variety tells us that Sam Worthington has been cast as the other lead; some dude named Marcus. This move is rather interesting, because it means James Cameron (director of Terminator and Terminator 2) has taken a liking to Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins director McG, as Cameron was the one who recommended Worthington for the new job (the actor is also starring in Cameron’s Avatar). We’re not sure how much influence Cameron is having on the production, but if he’s managed to get Worthington into the lead role, I imagine he’s offered a bunch of additional advice as well. And that can’t be a bad thing.

Is Obama Good for Business?

Posted by iTVX Staff on 13th February 2008

On Sunday, Feb. 10, after he found out he’d won that day’s Democratic Presidential primary in Maine, but before his appearance on CBS’s 60 Minutes, Senator Barack Obama (D-Ill.) sat down at the keyboard of his computer to write an e-mail. Not to a media consultant or a delegate counter, but to banker Robert Wolf, CEO of UBS Americas (UBS). The two men exchanged notes about the Senate-passed economic stimulus package and that weekend’s G-7 economic summit, Wolf says.

A banker as Obama’s pen pal? Hard to believe, given the senator’s liberal image. But in between rallies and airplane flights on the campaign trail, Obama has also taken time to consult on the economy with billionaire Warren Buffett, whose support of rolling back the Bush tax cuts Obama often cites in his stump speeches. Obama has also been in touch with former Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker, who endorsed the freshman senator in January. “When I sat down with him, I found him to be unbelievably refreshing and smart and thoughtful,” says Wolf, who first met Obama at the offices of financier George Soros. The UBS chief has gone on to raise more than $1 million for the Obama campaign.
