DirecTV will start offering TiVo premium HD digital video recorders in a new deal that runs through at least February 2015. Multichannel News reports the deal, and notes how DirecTV will continue to offer DVR with the new TiVo HD boxes as “an alternative choice.”

The upcoming Samuel L. Jackson film Lakeview Terrace opens later this month, and if the trailers are any indication, the film will essentially play out as a remake of Unlawful Entry. In the film, Jackson plays an L.A. cop who terroizes his new next door neighbors - a newlywed couple played by Patrick Wilson and Kerry Washington. Abu Dhabi, often called the richest city in the world, plans to use $1 billion of its oil wealth to invest in movie productions over the next five years, Edward Borgerding, CEO of Abu Dhabi Media Company has told the London Financial Times.
