Yahoo Expands Mobile Search Capabilities

Posted by iTVX Staff on October 10th, 2008

Yahoo is expanding search capabilities on select mobile devices in the U.S., U.K., India, Singapore, Philippines and Canada.

Voice-enabled search has been integrated into the Yahoo oneSearch shortcut on select Nokia Series 60 devices, and into Yahoo Go 3.0 on select BlackBerry and Nokia Series 60/40 devices. Once users install Yahoo oneSearch on the Nokia Series 60 cell phone, one tap on the phone screen initiates a search. The service lets consumers speak or type a search for anything, from movie times and sports scores to stock quotes and restaurants. Search Assist also enables spelling suggestions and real-time related concepts for more specific search results.
