All eyes are on the election which means most of your programming is off for a night. It’ll be interesting to see if any unintentional or intentional product placement will turn up. Throughout the race, various products have been mentioned or seen or heard. Some network anchors are usually responsible for this by mentioning something off the cuff. It’ll be interesting to see also if the politicians themselves plug anything unexpectedly like say, George W. Bush did with Dell computers a few years back. Stay tuned.
There are so many stories on Heroes losing its mojo (EW cover, TVGuide, etc) and with the news that two producers have been fired and creator Tim Kringe coming back to “simplify” the storylines, one wonders if the show already seen its best days. Personally, I say the show jumped the shark in the final moments of season one where Hiro woke up in Ancient Japan. What do you think? Can the show find itself again? Do you care?
HBO is creating a Web series called Ring Life which will focus on eight boxers trying to make it in the ring. Jim Lampley, a veteran boxing announcer from HBO, will narrate the episodes which will each run up to six minutes and air on HBO.com, and YouTube.
Project Runway host and supermodel Heidi Klum made a commercial for Guitar Hero that finds her sending off Tom Cruise’s underwear dance scene from Risky Business. The commercial comes on the heels of an American Idol take on it and most recently an all-star sports lineup including Alex Rodriguez and Michael Phelps.
For the second time in a month, Starburst has underwritten a unique content distribution deal for the Next New Networks’ series Nite Fite, which resulted in an episode of that show receiving premium placement on YouTube via its top homepage ad placement.

On the eve of Election Day, The Daily Show took its last minute swipes at the candidates and urged America’s youth to get out and vote. While the show is usually heavy on product placement (intentiionally and unintentionally) the episode had hardly any - but toward the end their was a nice mention of Super Mario Bros.In particular, Stewart told college kids to get out and vote instead of playing videogames.

Controversial comedian Russell Brand is reportedly set to join the cast of the fourth Pirates Of The Caribbean movie as brother to Johnny Depp’s character, Captain Jack Sparrow.
The British personality would join Depp and likely Keith Richards as members of the Sparrow clan.
Dancing with the Stars, Boston Legaly, Two-and-a-Half-Men, Heroes, My Own Worst Enemy, and CSI: Miami. All those shows received some plugs from John McCain in the show’s cold open.The opening wasn’t very funny but the placements, while oddly mentioned, still resonated a bit.
