Another day, another network getting into the original scripted series business. BET has announced the premiere of its first original scripted series, “Somebodies.” The comedy will mark the first of its kind in the network’s 28-year history, according to the Associated Press. CHICAGO (AdAge.com) — It’s still early, but so far Burger King looks like a superhero in the summer tie-in category. The fast-feeder, coming off a wildly successful promotion of “Iron Man,” is making a big push behind “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,” which opens today. With kids-meal toys, in-store and online games, and a limited-time Indy Whopper (double patties, bacon, Cajun mayo and pepper jack cheese), Cindy Syracuse, senior director-marketing impact at Burger King, said this is one of the chain’s biggest movie promotions ever.
